Denisa Urban completed a PhD at the University of Toronto, Department of Biochemistry in 2013. She next pursued a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary, Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, focusing on the microbiome and microRNAome of non-melanoma skin cancer. Denisa has been working with EQuIS since 2015, starting as a Research Associate. In her current role as Sr. Research Associate, Denisa is responsible for overseeing multiple EQuIS projects, developing research protocols, ensuring that studies meet research ethics requirements, pursuing funding opportunities, and providing support and mentorship to other EQuIS team members.
