Kripa studied at the University of Calgary, majoring in Biological Sciences and Biological Anthropology. She completed an honours thesis research project in the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, performing laboratory research to study epigenetic regulation pertaining to gestation in equines. Throughout her undergraduate career, Kripa has held roles with the Cumming School of Medicine in the Departments of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine. She has worked at a variety of healthcare facilities in Calgary while facilitating numerous research projects simultaneously.
On the strength of her experience and growing skill-set combined with her interest in pediatrics and surgical care, Kripa is very enthusiastic to be a part of the EQuIS team. As a research assistant with EQuIS, she is supporting a range of national and international multidisciplinary research projects, and is especially focusing on the redevelopment of a point-of-care tool to improve surgical safety internationally. Outside of work, Kripa is involved with many organizations and advisory councils at the University of Calgary that aim to assist and mentor students interested in science and healthcare. She is also passionate about contributing to her community by working on patient-centred initiatives both in and out of the research realm. Her overarching goal is to contribute to the field of medicine by pursuing a career as a physician while actively having a role in advancing healthcare.
