Kristin Short completed her Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the University of British Columbia. She’s held roles in both healthcare research and medical clinic management. Kristin has been involved with March of Dimes Canada and the Stroke Recovery Association of British Columbia for several years, doing research on stroke recovery, self-management and community reintegration, as well as teaching speech, cognition and memory classes for individuals with acquired brain injury. During her undergraduate degree, Kristin completed an exchange program at University College London in the UK, where she got involved in laboratory research studying the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative disease. Presently, Kristin is supporting a number of projects at EQuIS, these include multidisciplinary studies in surgical recovery on both a national and international scale.
Her past experiences paired with a background in Neuroscience and Pharmacology have fostered a keen interest in both medicine and public health and policy. Kristin is very excited to be part of the EQuIS team and pursue her research interests and learn more about the healthcare system. Her long-term vocational goal is to pursue a career in medicine while conducting research and seeking out teaching opportunities. Outside of work, Kristin enjoys spending her time writing, being active outdoors, and fostering rescue animals.
