Talia Belcher completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology at the University of Alberta. There she contributed to research examining the effects of cannabis compounds on the developing nervous system. She has expanded her laboratory experience through a position with the National Research Council of Canada exploring the antimicrobial properties of the implant material Bioglass. Talia's interest in psychology and contributing to her community has inspired her to contribute to many volunteer opportunities including with the University of Alberta Sexual Assault Centre as well as her current position in the genetics clinic at the Alberta Children's Hospital.
As a member of the EQuIS team, Talia contributes as a research assistant where she continues to nourish her love of research through supporting Primary Investigators in a number of multidisciplinary projects both nationally and internationally. Talia's drive to pursue clinical research has led her to many opportunities, including EQuIS, where she hopes to further develop her passions and contribute to the positive effects research can have on the lives of patients.
