Temi completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Health Studies at Dalhousie University. During her undergraduate degree, she participated in psychiatric research at the Calkin medical research lab and completed summer projects and an independent research project investigating the connection between Bipolar Disorder and Insulin Resistance. She also spent a year as a research volunteer at the Autism Research Center, studying factors affecting attrition in studies of children at the IWK hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. These research opportunities have helped her learn about the multiple factors that affect the health and courses of outcomes in patients. Temi’s research interests include the patient experience, improving health outcomes, as well as how the health system directly impacts patients. As a research assistant with EQuIS, Temi is assisting on national and international multidisciplinary projects that focus on improving the use and effectiveness of the Safety Surgical Checklist in middle to high-income countries. In her spare time, Temi enjoys watching movies, going to art galleries and spending time with her cat.
